Ms Evika Siliņa took office as the Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia in September 2023. She has many years of experience in public administration and politics.
In 2022, she was elected to the Latvian Parliament and was appointed to the office of the Minister for Welfare. She also held the position of Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister from 2019 to 2022, while from 2013 to 2019, Ms Siliņa served as Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior.
Before her political career, Ms Evika Siliņa served as an individually practicing sworn attorney. She holds a Master’s Degree in Law from the Riga Graduate School of Law, specializing in International and European Law.
