Christian Micas is working as a Senior Policy Officer in the Future Connectivity Systems Unit of the European Commission, DG CONNECT, where he is in charge of coordinating policy and research activities in the field of 5G applied to mobility and transport.
An economist by training, Christian previously worked for 15 years in the European Commission’s Directorate in charge of Telecom policy. As part of his last assignment, he was a member of the Team which prepared and negotiated the European Electronic Communications Code, with specific responsibilities in the fields of access regulation, numbering and standards.
Christian joined the Commission in 1993, and worked for 10 years in the office of three successive Director Generals of DG CONNECT (at the time DG INFSO) where he conducted economic advisory work.
Before his time at the European Commission, Christian worked as a consultant at IDATE Digiworld, a think-tank specialised in ICT and online media markets.
