Rihards Novickis

Senior Researcher EDI, Institute of Electronics and Computer Science

“Nearly everything is really interesting if you go into it deeply enough” is a famous quote of Richard Feynman and also a core belief of Dr. Rihards Novickis, senior researcher at the Institute of Electronics and Computer Science in Latvia. He works with System-on-Chip technology and is involved in a wide range of technical experiences, ranging from RTL design for different image processing challenges and embedded Linux kernel development to the design of system architectures and team management. The main objective of his research is to create novel computing approaches, thus ensuring a sustainable advancement of our society.

His colleagues describe Dr. Novickis as enthusiastic and driven, and he also has an appreciation award for one of the most important achievements in Latvian science in 2018 for his work on “Original approach for neural network architecture implementation in field programmable gate arrays”.

He received his Ph.D. in electronics engineering from Riga Technical University in 2022.
